Athens: The Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA) took part in the High-Level International Conference on Connecting Energy Futures: Interconnectors and Renewable Energy Integration under the Connectivity Agenda, held in Athens, Greece, on July 14-15. This event formed a segment of the EU-funded EU4Energy Phase III project and attracted participants from various relevant government agencies, regulatory authorities, European Union institutions, and international organizations from Eastern Partnership countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference focused on discussing the European Union's strategies and methodologies for enhancing energy security, developing cross-border electricity interconnectors, integrating renewable energy sources into energy systems, expanding regional cooperation, and fostering integration with the energy market. Attendees shared their perspectives on the current challenges related to European Union energy policy, market integration, network regulations, and energy infrastructure planning.

Representing AERA, Elmar Gulaliyev contributed to a panel session that deliberated on the prospects and future pathways for the Eastern Partnership. He shared insights into Azerbaijan's efforts toward reforming its electricity market, advancing regional energy cooperation, and exploring the potential for integration with the European energy market.
