Azerbaijan Engages in CIS Interstate Council Meeting on Standardization and Metrology

Moscow: Ilgar Hasanov, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the 68th meeting of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (ISC) of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), held in Moscow, Russia. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format and included a diverse range of representatives from various national bodies.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting saw participation from the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND) and the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology (AzMI), along with national bodies responsible for standardization, metrology, conformity assessment, and accreditation from CIS member states. Representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the Bureau of Standards were also present.

The primary aim of the meeting was to enhance cooperation in the domains of standardization, metrology, and certification among the CIS countries that are part of the Agreement on the Implementation of Agreed Policies. Key topics included the establishment of the Interstate Standardization Program and the creation of new international technical committees on standardization. Participants discussed various topical issues and worked towards adopting joint decisions to strengthen collaboration.
