Paris: Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli has participated in the high-level presentation ceremony of UNESCO's Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report held at UNESCO headquarters, the Ministry of Science and Education told APA. The event gathered high-level representatives from education ministries of UNESCO member states, along with international and regional organizations and experts. Panel discussions covered key issues such as access and equity in education, the challenge of out-of-school children, equitable education financing, and preschool education.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Deputy Minister Hasan Hasanli also engaged in a bilateral meeting with Uzbekistan's Minister of Preschool and School Education, Ezozkhon Karimova, during the event. Additionally, the Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 6th meeting of the Global Education Coalition. During the ministers' panel titled 'Opportunities of the Impact of Digital Transformation in Education,' Hasan Hasanli delivered a speech highlighting the progress made under the 'Socio-Economic Development Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026.' He detailed initiatives targeting the enhancement of digital skills and the integration of artificial intelligence solutions in the education system.

The Global Education Coalition, established in 2020 to counter the educational disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, has expanded its mission to ensure educational continuity in emergencies and support the transformation of education systems. Currently, it operates in 112 countries and includes over 220 institutional partners, spanning civil society, academia, and the private sector. Notably, Azerbaijan became one of the principal donors to UNESCO's Global Education Coalition in 2021 by offering financial contributions.
