Baku: The import of works of art, collectible items, and antique objects into Azerbaijan will now be exempt from value-added tax (VAT), APA reports. This significant change is part of a proposed amendment to the Tax Code, discussed during a recent meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft legislation outlines that the import exemption applies to items on a list determined by a designated body or institution. The exemption is contingent upon a confirmation document issued by this designated authority. This measure is aimed at encouraging the import of cultural and historical items into the country.
