Rabat:Azerbaijan's embassies abroad will now be involved in maintaining military records of conscripts and individuals liable for military service.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, this change comes as the Cabinet of Ministers has amended the "Rules for Maintaining Military Records of Conscripts and Persons Liable for Military Service."

Currently, military records are managed by various state bodies, including consulates, local executive authorities, and institutions within Azerbaijan. These include enterprises and organizations with legal status in Azerbaijan or abroad, regardless of ownership type, as well as educational institutions. The amendment extends this responsibility to Azerbaijani embassies, further integrating them into the military record-keeping process.
