Baku: Azerbaijan's migration policy has been developed in line with international practice, Head of the State Migration Service Vusal Huseynov said during a media tour on the topic of "Media Awareness in the Field of Migration," APA reports. He emphasized that one of the main priorities is the promotion of legal migration.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Huseynov outlined that the country is actively expanding opportunities for foreigners wishing to enter through legal channels. This includes simplifying procedures and making services more accessible. Currently, Azerbaijan offers visa-free entry to citizens of 17 countries. In addition, citizens of 89 countries can obtain an electronic visa via the ASAN Visa system, and citizens of 11 countries can receive a visa upon arrival at the airport.

In recent months, efforts have been made to introduce visa-free travel with a number of countries, including Japan, Oman, the Republic of Korea, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and others. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to enhance legal migration and facilitate international travel to Azerbaijan.
