Baku: Azerbaijan has successfully exported more than 12 million tons of oil to 18 countries within the first half of 2024. The State Customs Committee revealed that Italy emerged as the leading importer, receiving 6,820,798.97 tons of oil valued at USD 3,602,341.97 thousand.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Czech Republic was the second-largest recipient of Azerbaijani oil, importing 846,461.39 tons worth USD 449,595.51 thousand. Croatia followed closely, ranking third with 744,703.91 tons of oil imports valued at USD 408,862.68 thousand.
The reported figures represent the value of exported oil for which customs formalities were completed during the specified period. Overall, the total volume of oil exports amounted to 12,046,352.54 tons, generating a revenue of USD 6,409,319.05 thousand.
The list of countries importing Azerbaijani oil includes Romania, Portugal, and Germany, among others. Romania imported 685,972.26 tons, while Portugal and Germany received 576,034.89 tons and 562,298.56 tons, respectively. Other notable importers included Great Britain, Ireland, Greece, and the Netherlands.
Additional countries on the export list were Thailand, Indonesia, and Tunisia, each importing over 100,000 tons of oil. Smaller quantities were sent to Switzerland, Denmark, Bulgaria, Austria, and Trkiye, rounding out the list of 18 countries benefiting from Azerbaijan’s oil exports.
