Azerbaijan Exports Over 6 Billion Cubic Meters of Gas to Europe This Year

Baku: Azerbaijan has reported significant gas exports to Europe, with over 6 billion cubic meters delivered this year. In the first half of the year, Azerbaijan produced 25.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas, as noted by APA-Economics, referencing data from the Ministry of Energy.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the distribution of gas production included 6.6 billion cubic meters from the “Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli” block, 13.8 billion cubic meters from the “Shah Deniz” field, 0.8 billion cubic meters from the “Absheron” field, and approximately 4 billion cubic meters attributed to SOCAR. During this period, Azerbaijan’s total gas sales abroad reached 12.1 billion cubic meters.

The report further outlines that of the gas exported, 6.1 billion cubic meters were directed to Europe, 4.9 billion cubic meters to Trkiye, with 2.9 billion cubic meters of this amount transported via the TANAP gas pipeline, and 1.1 billion cubic meters to Georgia. The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has played a crucial role in delivering Azerbaijani gas to Europe since its initiation on December 31, 2020.
