Baku: The tax exemption period for media entities in Azerbaijan will be extended for another three years. This development is part of the draft law titled ‘On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.’ The exemption, originally set to expire on January 1, 2026, will now continue for an additional three years.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the extension means that from January 1, 2026, media entities in Azerbaijan, excluding audiovisual media entities, will continue to enjoy a tax exemption on income earned from their activities, including advertising revenues. Additionally, material assistance provided by a designated body or institution, as determined by the relevant executive authority, will also remain tax-exempt.
The decision to extend the tax exemption period aims to support the financial stability and growth of media entities in the country. The specifics of the draft law emphasize the continued exclusion of audiovisual media entities from this tax benefit, highlighting the government’s focus on print and other non-audiovisual media.
