Azerbaijan Extradites Fraud Suspect to Russia

Baku: Azerbaijan has extradited a person wanted by Russia. A person placed on an international wanted list has been extradited from Azerbaijan to Russia, the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, cooperation with foreign law enforcement agencies in combating crime continues successfully. The request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for the extradition of Mikael Kostanovich Mundshayn, born on February 25, 1984, a Russian citizen charged with fraud and placed on an interstate wanted list in 2023, has been granted by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In accordance with the Convention of October 7, 2002, ‘On Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters,’ a decision was made on the extradition of the accused person. Mundshayn was handed over to the competent authorities of the Russian Federation under escort by the Special Convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
