Baku: Azerbaijan has successfully fulfilled a request from the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation by extraditing Kyrgyz citizen Kamoliddin Salicanovich Tadzhimatov, born in 1994, for criminal prosecution. Tadzhimatov was wanted by Russian authorities for charges related to violating traffic safety and vehicle operation rules, which resulted in serious bodily harm caused by negligence.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Tadzhimatov was placed on the international wanted list in Russia and was located and detained in Azerbaijan in March 2026. Following his detention, a pre-trial detention measure was imposed. Subsequently, Tadzhimatov was handed over to the competent authorities of the Russian Federation under the escort of a special convoy from the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
