Baku: Azerbaijan is poised to increase its gas exports to Syria as part of its initial foray into the Middle Eastern energy market. This announcement was made by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, during an interview with Saudi Arabia's Al Arabiya TV channel, as reported by APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the potential for Azerbaijan to enhance its gas supply capabilities not only to Syria but also to other countries in the region. He mentioned the possibility of utilizing the Arabian Gas Pipeline and other methods, such as swaps, to facilitate these exports. Furthermore, he noted that Azerbaijan is involved in the trade of energy resources on a global scale, acting as an international trader beyond merely selling its own oil and gas. President Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan's potential in this sector is significant and should not be underestimated.
