Baku: "The Garadaghli tragedy will forever remain in memory as a grave crime against humanity," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on X account, APA reports. The statement was made on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Garadaghli massacre, a somber date in the history of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the massacre was carried out against the civilian population of Azerbaijan by Armenian armed groups. The atrocity resulted in the loss of 67 lives, including women and children. The Ministry emphasized that the brutality with which the massacre was perpetrated makes it one of the most tragic chapters in the nation's history.
The Ministry's post highlighted the importance of remembering such tragedies as part of a moral obligation to ensure they are never forgotten. "May Allah have mercy on all our martyrs," the post concluded, underscoring the lasting impact of the tragedy on the collective memory of the Azerbaijani people.
