Baku: The governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Trkiye, and Bulgaria are currently engaged in discussions aimed at establishing a new overland electricity transit corridor. Inga Pkhaladze, Georgia's Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, announced the ongoing negotiations and highlighted the project's significance.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, this initiative holds substantial economic importance for the involved nations. Georgia plans not only to facilitate the transit of electricity but also to export its own power. This move is expected to bolster local businesses and aid in the advancement of Georgia's energy sector.

Pkhaladze emphasized that the project will enable electricity from interested countries, particularly those in proximity, to be transmitted to Europe via Georgia. The endeavor is anticipated to strengthen energy cooperation among the participating countries and enhance regional energy security.
