Baku: On July 28, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Dirk L¶lke, the incoming German Ambassador to the country. Ambassador Dirk L¶lke presented a copy of his credentials to the Azerbaijani FM. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov congratulated the German ambassador on the start of his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, wishing him success in his endeavors.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on the current state and development of Azerbaijan-Germany relations, political dialogue, trade and economic relations, as well as cooperation in energy security, green energy, industry, transport, communications, humanitarian affairs, and culture. The officials noted that the recent visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Germany laid the foundation for a new phase in bilateral relations, stressing the importance of the Joint Declaration on the Strategic Agenda for Bilateral Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Republic of Germany and the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Germany Business Council. They also highlighted the importance of maintaining high-level contacts to further strengthen existing cooperation mechanisms.

Noting that the historical ties and rich heritage connecting the peoples of Azerbaijan and Germany for nearly two centuries continue to serve as an important foundation for the development of relations today, the parties discussed the existing potential for further deepening cooperation based on mutual respect and trust. The meeting also addressed regional and international security matters. The Azerbaijani top diplomat briefed the German ambassador on post-conflict developments in the South Caucasus, the Azerbaijan-Armenia reconciliation process, as well as ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace in the region.
