Baku: The 16th General Assembly of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) was convened in Baku, where significant developments and decisions were made for the future of gymnastics in the country. The assembly marked an important milestone for the federation, focusing on the achievements and strategic directions for the coming years.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Vice-President of the Federation, Altay Hasanov, opened the assembly with a video report that detailed the federation's activities, competitions, and accomplishments from 2021 to 2025. He emphasized the dynamic growth of Azerbaijani gymnastics and the pride with which athletes have represented Azerbaijan internationally.
Financial Director Viktoriya Abushova presented the financial report for the same period, highlighting the federation's financial status and its strategic investments. The assembly also approved amendments to the Federation's Charter, including changes to the structure of the Control-Inspection and Disciplinary Commissions, and introduced the establishment of the Athletes' and Appeal Commissions.
In the executive elections, Mehriban Aliyeva was re-elected as President of AGF, securing her leadership for another five-year term. Altay Hasanov retained his position as Vice-President, with Rauf Aliyev, Rafiq Beybutov, and Vafa Bakarova being confirmed as members of the Executive Committee.
Key regulatory documents such as the 'Disciplinary Rules,' 'Code of Ethics,' and 'Rules on Ensuring a Safe Environment in Gymnastics and Protecting the Identity of Participants' were discussed and adopted. Mahir Rafiyev, Elshad Narimanov, and Ruslan Mirzazade were elected to the Control-Inspection Commission, while Nazim Rajabov, Aytaj Gasimova, Elmar Jalilov, Namig Aliyev, and Jala Ahmadova were appointed to the Disciplinary Commission. The Appeal Commission saw the election of Khagani Mammadov, Elchin Usub, and Rashad Akhundov.
The assembly concluded with the awarding of commemorative medals to athletes who excelled in major competitions in 2025, celebrating their exceptional performances and contributions to Azerbaijani gymnastics.
