Baku: An event titled 'Rebuilding Urbanism: How It Created an Innovation Laboratory for Urban Transformation in Azerbaijan' was conducted as part of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku. The event, moderated by Shujaat Ahmadzada, representative of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company, discussed international experience in urban development, sustainable planning, and innovative urbanization approaches, along with Azerbaijan's successful transformation model.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ramil Jahangirov, Head of the Department for Project Management in Liberated Territories at the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, noted that the goal set for the reconstruction of the territories liberated from occupation is to restore these areas in accordance with global urban planning standards. This was a key principle for both state institutions and private sector entities involved in the process. He emphasized that cooperation with international companies began from the very first days of reconstruction.

Aydin Karimov, President's Special Representative in Shusha District, stated that planning is not merely about drawings, plans, papers, or other documents. He highlighted that planning involves extensive discussions, brainstorming sessions, and mutual interactions with the international community to find the most correct approach.

Dunja Kovari-Binggeli, Founding Partner of sa_partners consulting firm, shared her impressions of Azerbaijan's reconstruction plans. She noted that their goal was to provide safe and dignified living conditions for those returning. Their services included strategic master planning, territorial zoning, and detailed project design down to architectural implementation, turning plans into reality in Azerbaijan.
