Accra:An official luncheon was hosted on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan in honor of President Thongloun Sisoulith of Laos.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the luncheon took place on October 13 and was followed by a viewing of photographs by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Laos, along with Laos' Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thongsavanh Phomvihane. The photographs were taken in 1986 during the visit of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to Laos, in his role as First Deputy Chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers. They depicted a meeting with Kaysone Phomvihane, who was then the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Laos.

Kaysone Phomvihane was the father of Thongsavanh Phomvihane, who currently serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Laos.
