Baku: The Amnesty Act begins tomorrow in Azerbaijan, APA reports. On December 19, the Milli Majlis adopted a decision on declaring an amnesty on the occasion of the "Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty". According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Parliament adopted this decision based on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to declare an amnesty. The Amnesty Act will be implemented from December 22. A group of prisoners covered by the amnesty will be released tomorrow. This move highlights the Azerbaijani government's commitment to constitutional values and sovereignty, as reflected in the occasion it marks.
