Baku: Azerbaijan has taken a significant step by adopting the new law “On Special Enforcement Officers,” as reported by APA. President Ilham Aliyev has officially signed the legislation, marking a pivotal development for the enforcement sector in the country.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the law outlines that a special enforcement officer is an individual who holds a special enforcement officer certificate. This certification empowers them to execute duties related to court documents and other tasks designated by law to enforcement officers. Importantly, these officers operate independently and are not representatives of state authority.

The role of a special enforcement officer is defined as a compulsory enforcement entity, engaging in professional activities that are distinct from entrepreneurial pursuits. Their operations are governed by a legal framework comprising the Constitution of Azerbaijan, international treaties ratified by the country, the newly adopted law, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Enforcement,” and other relevant legal acts.
