Baku: Azerbaijan has introduced a new regulatory framework that requires individuals importing more than one mobile phone for personal use to pay a state duty of 100 Azerbaijani manats. This decision, reported by APA, is part of recent amendments to the Tax Code and the law "On State Duty," which have been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendments specify that an excise tax of 20 manats will be levied on each mobile device imported into Azerbaijan. However, individuals bringing in one mobile device for personal use within a calendar year will not be subjected to this excise tax. The amendments also stipulate that the state fee for registering more than one mobile device, regardless of its market value, will be set at 100 manats per device.
Furthermore, the relevant executive authority will approve the amount of the state fee for mobile device registration each year, ensuring that the policy aligns with the broader fiscal and regulatory goals of the country.
