Azerbaijan Initiates Criminal Case Following Soldier’s Death in Jabrayil Ammunition Explosion


Jabrayil: Azerbaijan has launched a criminal case following the death of a serviceman from the State Border Service (SBS) in the Jabrayil district due to an ammunition explosion. Junior Sergeant Musazade Asgar Nijat sustained injuries while performing his duties, as confirmed by the SBS in response to an inquiry from APA.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, despite medical efforts, Nijat succumbed to his injuries. The SBS, along with the Military Prosecutor’s Office, is conducting an investigation into the incident. Firad Aliyev, Senior Assistant to the Military Prosecutor and Head of the Press Service, stated that the Fzuli Military Prosecutor’s Office and the Criminalistics and Information Technology Department of the Military Prosecutor’s Office conducted inspections, a forensic medical examination, and took other necessary measures.



The Fzuli Military Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case under the relevant article of the Azerbaijan Criminal Code. Witnesses have been interrogated, expert examinations ordered, and investigative measures are underway. The investigation continues, with a focus on ensuring all legal requirements are met and each fact and action is legally assessed.
