Azerbaijan Invites Armenian Officials to Join Dialogue at COP29 in Baku


Baku: Azerbaijan has officially invited Armenian officials to participate in the upcoming COP29 climate summit, emphasizing the importance of inclusive dialogue and negotiations among all nations attending the event.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mukhtar Babayev, the COP29 President-Designate, stated during an interview with APA that as hosts, Azerbaijan aims to create an open platform conducive to productive discussions and positive outcomes. “As hosts of COP29, Azerbaijan has created an open and inclusive platform for all participating countries,” Babayev said in response to a question about Armenia’s involvement.

“We have extended invitations to all nations, including Armenian officials, to join the process of dialogue and negotiation,” Babayev added. He further noted that Azerbaijan has signed a Host-Country Agreement with the United Nations to ensure that all necessary conditions are met for every delegation. This move underscores Azerbaijan’s commitment to fostering constructive international
engagement and cooperation at the global climate summit.
