Baku: Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia have initiated discussions to coordinate their electricity networks, marking a significant step towards trilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, underscored the promising prospects of this collaboration during a trilateral meeting held in Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mustafayev highlighted that Azerbaijan currently has individual electricity connections with both Iran and Russia, facilitating the exchange and trade of electricity. He emphasized the importance of integrating the electricity grids of the three nations into a single trilateral format. This initiative is part of a broader agenda aimed at enhancing infrastructure across the region, including improvements in customs and border operations. The Deputy Prime Minister stressed the need for simplifying and digitalizing customs processes to expand cooperation effectively.

Mustafayev expressed confidence that the ongoing negotiations and future decisions will strengthen the partnership among Azerbaijan, Iran, and Russia. He anticipates that these efforts will benefit the three countries and contribute positively to the broader region.
