BAKU: Azerbaijan has reported a balanced exchange of electricity with Iran, with nearly equal volumes supplied and received between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) during the first nine months of 2024.

According to Trend News Agency, Miryunis Seyidov, the head of the department of Nakhchivan State Energy Service, stated that 26.8 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity were supplied to Nakhchivan from Iran, while 27.9 million kWh were sent to Iran. This exchange reflects a continuing pattern of electricity trade between the two regions.

The electricity exchange between Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan and Iran has been a consistent practice. In 2023, a total of 32.7 million kWh of electricity was received from Iran, while 33.3 million kWh was supplied to the country. This ongoing exchange underscores the cooperative energy ties between Azerbaijan and Iran.
