Azerbaijan is Fourth Largest Investor in Georgian Economy

Tbilisi: In the first quarter of 2026, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Georgia increased by 47.7 percent, reaching $271.2 million, the country's Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development reported. During this period, the United Kingdom emerged as the largest investor in Georgia, followed by the United States, the Netherlands, and Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the growth in foreign direct investment was notable across several sectors, including financial and insurance, trade, real estate, and administrative and support services. This substantial rise highlights the expanding economic ties and collaborative opportunities between Georgia and its international investors, with Azerbaijan playing a significant role as the fourth largest contributor.
