Astana: Azerbaijan has officially become a full member of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), marking a significant milestone with a flag-raising ceremony held at the IOFS headquarters in Astana.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ceremony celebrated Azerbaijan's admission as a full member state and was notable for being the first flag-raising event in the organization's history, establishing a new institutional tradition. Azerbaijan's membership was formalized on May 6, 2026.
The event was attended by key figures including IOFS Director General Ambassador Berik Aryn and Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aghalar Atamoghlanov, highlighting the importance of this development in fostering food security collaboration among Islamic nations.
