Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Yermek Kosherbayev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Nurlan Sauranbayev, Minister of Transport, on April 8, APA reports. President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the positive development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, emphasizing the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood. He noted that the reciprocal visits by the heads of state and various delegations have been instrumental in bringing the two nations closer, thereby enhancing the potential for mutual cooperation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev expressed optimism about the utilization of opportunities presented by the joint investment fund, mentioning that several projects are already underway. He discussed the potential for joint investments by Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in third countries and expressed confidence that the visit of the Kazakh Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Transport to Azerbaijan would yield successful outcomes.
Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev conveyed the greetings of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan, to which President Aliyev reciprocated by sending his greetings. The Foreign Minister acknowledged the high regard in which President Aliyev is held in Kazakhstan. The meeting underscored satisfaction with the ongoing development of relations between the two countries in various sectors including political, economic, transport, logistics, investment, energy, and green energy.
The meeting also addressed the Middle Corridor, the Trans-Caspian Green Energy Corridor, and fiber-optic line projects, highlighting the successful collaboration between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. The discussion touched upon the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the TRIPP project passing through Armenian territory, which was recognized for its significance in regional cooperation and transport connectivity. Additionally, both sides praised their successful partnership within international organizations and exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
