Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center Reopens at NUML in Pakistan

Islamabad: The Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center has been officially reopened at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), a leading institution in Pakistan. The reopening ceremony was attended by notable figures including Khazar Farhadov, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan; Shahid Mahmood Kayani, the NUML Rector; as well as vice rectors from various Pakistani higher education institutions, academic staff, think tank members, and staff from the Azerbaijani Embassy.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event began with performances of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, setting the stage for the discussions on enhancing bilateral relations. NUML Rector Shahid Mahmood Kayani emphasized the importance of the cultural centers in both nations, underscoring their role in strengthening the diverse relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

In a video message, Kamal Abdulla, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), highlighted the significance of educational cooperation in fostering strong bilateral ties rooted in historical connections. Ambassador Khazar Farhadov also spoke about the growing relations between the two countries, mentioning the establishment of direct flights from Baku to Lahore and Islamabad, and the active role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and its working groups.

The Azerbaijan Language and Culture Center, operational since June 2022, plays a crucial role in deepening scientific, educational, cultural, and humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
