Baku: In a bid to increase the participation of women in the public transport sector, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) has initiated a specialized training program aimed at preparing female bus drivers. The initiative involves both theoretical and practical training, equipping candidates with the necessary skills to commence their professional careers as bus drivers, as reported by AYNA to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the training program encompasses a wide range of topics beyond driving skills. It includes ethical behavior, communication culture, and safety, with a particular focus on proper conduct with persons with disabilities. The program’s objective is to train women drivers who can ensure road safety, interact appropriately and courteously with passengers, and exhibit professionalism, especially in crisis situations.

During the training, participants engage in practical exercises covering observation techniques, maneuvering, and the rules of stopping and parking. A significant portion of the training involves driving in complex road conditions, executing front and rear parking, performing slalom movements, selecting correct turning trajectories, and maintaining a safe following distance. Additionally, drivers gain crucial skills aimed at minimizing accident risks in various road scenarios.

At the conclusion of the training, participants must pass independent driving tests on specially designed routes. This final stage comprehensively evaluates both their theoretical understanding and practical abilities.
