Azerbaijan Leads Foreign Investment Surge in Georgia’s Construction Sector

Tbilisi: Azerbaijan has emerged as the leading foreign investor in Georgia's construction sector, with investment inflows surging 37-fold. In the first nine months of last year, foreign direct investment in Georgia's construction industry totaled 62 million 538 thousand US dollars.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan contributed 26.1 million US dollars, accounting for 42% of the total foreign investment in the sector, and secured the top position among the leading countries investing in Georgia. This significant increase in investment highlights Azerbaijan's strong economic ties with Georgia.

The other major contributors to Georgia's construction sector investments included Russia, which invested 11.7 million US dollars, followed by Ukraine with 10.9 million US dollars, Trkiye with 9.5 million US dollars, and Slovakia with 4.3 million US dollars. These countries were part of the top five investors during the reporting period, reflecting a diverse range of international interest in Georgia's growing construction industry.
