Baku: President Ilham Aliyev announced Azerbaijan's leading position in the geography of gas pipeline supplies, highlighting the country's significant role in the natural gas sector. During the opening ceremony of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's extensive network in supplying natural gas.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan currently supplies natural gas to 16 countries, with expectations for this number to increase annually. The president's remarks underscored the strategic importance of Azerbaijan's gas pipeline infrastructure in the global energy market.
