Azerbaijan Marks 107th Anniversary of Armed Forces Establishment

Ganja: Today marks the founding day of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, APA reports. The Armed Forces of Azerbaijan were established in Ganja by a decision of the Parliament of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic on June 26, 1918.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, after the collapse of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1920, the army was disbanded, and on October 9, 1991, it was re-established by a decision of the Supreme Soviet. Currently, Azerbaijan is considered the most powerful country in the South Caucasus in terms of both combat capability and material-technical resources.

The structure of the Armed Forces includes the Land Forces, the Air Force, Air Defense Troops, and the Navy. Today, the people of Azerbaijan celebrate Armed Forces Day with great joy and pride. Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army has defeated the Armenian armed forces that had occupied Azerbaijani territories for 30 years.
