Taif: The 15th General Assembly of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) convened in Taif, Saudi Arabia, with Azerbaijan actively participating in the event. Representing Azerbaijan were Farid Mansurov, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), and Hasanagha Rzayev, Head of the NOC's Sports Department.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the assembly commenced with welcoming remarks from ISSA President Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud and representatives from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The agenda focused on critical topics such as the final report on the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, titled "Riyadh-2025," and preparations for the upcoming 7th Islamic Solidarity Games, "Malaysia-2029." Additionally, proposed amendments to the organization's statute and the approval of the 2025 audit report were discussed.

Delegates at the assembly also participated in elections for the ISSA Executive Committee for the 2026-2029 term. Following the Electoral Commission's report and the announcement of approved candidates, the newly elected Executive Board held its inaugural meeting.

An awards ceremony recognized outgoing Executive Board members. Hasanagha Rzayev accepted a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the former ISSA Vice President, acknowledging his dedicated service and leadership in promoting sports and solidarity across the Islamic world.
