Azerbaijan Plans Major AI Initiatives to Boost Economy by 2045


Baku: Azerbaijan is setting its sights on artificial intelligence (AI) as a key driver for its economic growth by 2045, announced Fariz Jafarov, the executive director of the Center for Analysis and Coordination of the IV Industrial Revolution (C4IR), during the inaugural Eurasian Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science held at ADA University.

According to Trend News Agency, Jafarov highlighted the potential of AI to enhance the country’s economic development significantly. He stated, “We want to utilize the potential of AI to accelerate Azerbaijan’s economic development by 2045. According to estimates of international organizations and companies, the country’s economy can receive $4.4 billion through the application of AI.” This ambitious goal is part of a broader strategy to integrate more deeply technology into the national economy.

Azerbaijan plans to launch the Digital Twin program, an initiative expected to generate a vast amount of data, thereby enabling better decision-making capabilities
for the government, businesses, and society through a data-driven approach. Additionally, Jafarov announced a special support program aimed at assisting 650 enterprises in their digital transformation efforts, further emphasizing the nation’s commitment to technological advancement.

The forum, which attracted professors from renowned universities across eight countries, created a platform for discussing innovative ideas in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data science. It provided an opportunity for leading scientists and experts specializing in AI theory, new methods development, and the application of data science in various fields including medicine, cybersecurity, sports, and agriculture to share insights and foster collaboration.

tal benefits.
