Baku: Azerbaijan's population has seen an increase of 7,987 people, or 0.1%, since the beginning of the year, reaching a total of 10,270,338 as of May 1, 2026.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this data was published by the State Statistical Committee and includes macroeconomic indicators of the country's economic and social development for the period of January to May.
The report further highlights that 54.3% of Azerbaijan's population resides in urban areas, while 45.7% live in rural regions. Additionally, the gender distribution of the population is nearly balanced, with 49.8% being men and 50.2% women.
