Azerbaijan Prepares for CIS Chairmanship in 2028

Turkmenbashi:Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev has announced the country's readiness to take on the chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2028.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the support of Azerbaijan's co-chairmanship in the CIS for 2027, interpreting it as a sign of high trust in the nation. He confirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to actively engage in achieving the organization's common objectives.

Furthermore, President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijan is prepared to organize the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting in the autumn of 2028, reinforcing the country's willingness to lead the group.
