BAKU – In anticipation of the upcoming COP29 conference, the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has launched a comprehensive food safety training program for local hotels in Baku to enhance service quality and meet international standards.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, The press service of the COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company informed APA that the ‘Food Safety – Level 2’ training, led by the company’s food safety expert, began this month. The initiative aims to prepare hotels for the influx of international visitors attending the conference from November 11th to 22nd, 2024, ensuring that all catering and hospitality services adhere to the highest standards of food safety. The training is based on the International Food Safety requirements and standards but has been customized to fit local conditions in Azerbaijan. This program, endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), covers critical aspects of food safety, including best practices in food preparation and distribution, strict hygiene regulations, and the importance of personal responsibility among service employees. Initial sessions have already been conducted, with plans to continue expanding the training to more establishments through the end of October.
