Azerbaijan President Announces Financial Assistance for WWII Veterans and Widows

Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has enacted an Order to provide one-time financial assistance to individuals involved in the Second World War from 1941-1945. The Order extends this aid to veterans, widows of fallen soldiers, and those recognized for their labor on the home front.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Order stipulates that World War II participants will receive a one-time payment of 2,750 manats. Additionally, a payment of 1,500 manats will be made to widows of those who were killed or have since passed away. This financial support also extends to individuals awarded for their work on the home front, those who served in specialized units supporting the armed forces, and those recognized for their involvement in the defense of Leningrad, including blockade participants.

To support these financial distributions, an allocation of 3 million manats will be drawn from the 2026 President's Reserve Fund. The Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population have been given the necessary instructions to ensure the implementation of these payments.
