Baku: The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has awarded the Jubilee Medal for Human Rights to Professor Noura bint Zaid Al-Rashoud, the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The award, recognizing her contributions in the field of human rights, was presented in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Azerbaijan.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission congratulated Professor Noura on receiving the medal and expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of Azerbaijan for this initiative. The Commission highlighted that this recognition underscores the Azerbaijani government’s dedication to supporting human rights issues within the Commission and the wider Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The Commission also acknowledged the significant support it receives
from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Their support in hosting the Commission’s headquarters and providing necessary facilities is crucial for ensuring its effective and independent functioning.
