Azerbaijan Prioritizes Strengthening Ties with African Nations

Antalya: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, Joao Bernardo Vieira, during the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The meeting underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to fostering stronger relations with African countries, including Guinea-Bissau.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions highlighted prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the two nations. The ministers explored potential collaborations in various sectors such as politics, economics, humanitarian efforts, tourism, and energy. They stressed the necessity of joint activities to pursue shared interests within international organizations like the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement.

The dialogue also focused on expanding economic and trade relations, particularly in the development of natural resources. Both sides expressed interest in exchanging expertise in public service delivery and enhancing educational and vocational training through scholarship programs. Minister Bayramov reiterated Azerbaijan's intention to deepen its engagement with African countries, emphasizing the importance of these partnerships. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on additional mutual interests.
