Baku: The Azerbaijan Producers Guild (APG) has been officially accepted as a full member of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), one of the most prestigious film organizations globally, as announced by APG Chairman Mushfiq Hatamov. The membership will become active on January 1, 2026.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Mushfiq Hatamov emphasized that joining FIAPF represents a strategic advancement for the Azerbaijan Producers Guild. The move is aimed at gaining international recognition for Azerbaijani cinema and strengthening its global position. Membership in FIAPF provides Azerbaijani producers the opportunity to align with international standards and engage with the global film market. This development holds significant importance for the protection of producers’ rights, attracting foreign investments to local projects, and increasing participation in international co-production projects. Azerbaijani cinema will now be represented alongside some of the world’s leading film countries.

Hatamov highlighted the Guild’s plans to leverage its new status to improve international legislation related to copyright and producers’ rights, as well as film production. Additionally, APG aims to actively promote Azerbaijani cinema to foreign producers, distributors, and investors through the FIAPF network.

The Azerbaijan Producers Guild is a public association that brings together the country’s leading film and television producers. Its primary goals include protecting the rights and interests of its members, supporting the development of the local audiovisual industry, and promoting international cooperation in the audiovisual field. Established in 1933, FIAPF is a non-profit organization representing 38 member organizations across 31 countries, dedicated to protecting the interests of film producers, accrediting international film festivals, and setting ethical and professional standards in the film industry.
