According to Trend News Agency, Health Minister Teymur Musayev outlined the details of the proposal during last year's OTS health ministers' meeting in Samarkand. Musayev highlighted that the "Trktransplant" system is intended to streamline the process of medical transplants across the OTS member states, which together encompass a population of approximately 160 million people. The proposal envisions a unified information center that would maintain a centralized database of both donors and recipients, initially focusing on bone marrow transplants. Musayev explained that the disparity in donor availability among the countries, largely due to varying population sizes, underscores the necessity for such a unified system. This system would enable more efficient cross-border transplantation procedures, enhancing the overall medical infrastructure within the OTS. The initiative took a concrete step forward with the signing of the "Protocol of Intent to Create the Trktransplant System" in Shusha city, Azerbaijan. The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, aims to promote cooperation among Turkic-speaking states. Its General Secretariat is located in Istanbul, Turkey.
