Azerbaijan Railways Clarifies Status of Baku-Tbilisi-Baku Service


Baku: Azerbaijan Railways has clarified that no decision has been made yet regarding the resumption of the Baku-Tbilisi-Baku railway passenger service. Azer Farajov, head of the Department of Passenger Transportation of Azerbaijan Railways (ADY), addressed inquiries from APA-Economics about reports from the Georgian side concerning the potential launch of the service on May 1 of this year.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Farajov stated, “There is no news about the opening. The neighboring side had made a statement about this, but as you can see, there is no news about this in our media, and we are waiting for information on this matter.” The remarks suggest that while discussions may be ongoing, official confirmation or details from Azerbaijan’s side are still pending.
