Baku: Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY) transported 16% more passengers in the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year. This increase brings the total number of passengers to approximately 3.9 million, as reported by ADY to APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Absheron Circular Railway saw nearly 4.3 million passengers, marking a 16% increase. Additionally, intercity routes experienced a 21% rise, with approximately 240,000 passengers utilizing these services during the reporting period.
Moreover, the number of foreign tourists traveling with ADY surpassed 11,000, reflecting a 6% increase compared to the previous year.
