Azerbaijan Railways to Launch Situation Center for Enhanced Operations Monitoring


BAKU: Azerbaijan Railways CJSC is set to implement a situation center designed to enhance the monitoring and management of railway operations, as revealed by Orkhan Ahmadzade, Acting Head of the Research and Development Center at Azerbaijan Railways. Speaking at an event focusing on innovations in railroad technology and opportunities for German companies in Azerbaijan, Ahmadzade emphasized the importance of digitalization in the sector.

According to Trend News Agency, Ahmadzade highlighted that the initiative aligns with efforts to attract more cargo and presents growth opportunities that make the Azerbaijani railway sector appealing to investors. He elaborated on the ongoing digital transformation within Azerbaijan Railways, which includes the adoption of automated railway transport management systems. These systems aim to streamline operations at stations and enhance commercial activities at border stations.

The development of advanced signaling systems, including microprocessor centralization and digita
l mobile radio communication, is expected to bolster communication effectiveness. The establishment of the situation center will enable real-time observation and control of railway operations, facilitating a quicker response to incidents and improving coordination. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize Azerbaijan’s railway infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.

The information event, held in Baku, is organized as part of a business trip for a delegation of German entrepreneurs by AHK Azerbaijan, scheduled for October 21-25, 2024. This trip aims to explore partnerships and opportunities in the Azerbaijani railroad sector, further strengthening international collaborations.
