Azerbaijan Ready to Assist in Georgian Plane Crash Search and Rescue Operations

Baku: The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, engaged in a telephone conversation with Georgia’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Gela Geladze, concerning the crash of a military cargo plane from the Turkish Air Force on Georgian territory.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the call, both ministers discussed the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident. Minister Heydarov emphasized that, following instructions from President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan, the nation’s Ministry of Emergency Situations is prepared to promptly participate in search and rescue operations and offer additional support as needed.

Minister Geladze conveyed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s readiness to assist and mentioned that if required, Azerbaijan’s rescue forces, currently on alert at the border, would be mobilized to support the operations in Georgia. Communication between the Azerbaijani and Georgian institutions is ongoing to address the situation effectively.
