Baku: Azerbaijan has reiterated its commitment to addressing the ongoing issue of landmine contamination, which continues to severely impact the nation. On the occasion of the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the urgent humanitarian challenges posed by landmines in a statement released on its X account.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the statement emphasized the grave threat posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan. These hazards not only endanger lives but also impede reconstruction efforts and slow down the safe return of displaced individuals. Azerbaijan remains one of the most heavily affected countries by landmine contamination, underscoring the need for continued international support.
