Azerbaijan Records Haul of 24 Medals in Mingachevir Regatta 2024


MINGACHEVIR: Azerbaijani rowers delivered an outstanding performance at the International Mingachevir Regatta 2024, securing a total of 24 medals.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, on the final day of the competition, Azerbaijani athletes claimed 13 medals, including three golds, six silvers, and four bronzes. Notable victories came from the pairs of Azer Ilyasov and Tunar Mammadzade, and Nurlan Pashayev and Jahangir Mammadli, who won gold in the 1500m race. Additionally, the duo of Giyas Ahmadov and Subhan Hasanov finished first in the men’s kayak double 200m event, clocking the fastest time ahead of their rivals.

The performance of the Azerbaijani team was notable throughout the regatta, with athletes demonstrating skill and determination in various rowing categories. The successful haul of medals reflects the country’s growing strength in water sports and highlights the athletes’ rigorous preparation ahead of the event.
