Azerbaijan Resettles Families in Shushakend and Khanyurdu Villages

Khojaly: Azerbaijan has successfully relocated former internally displaced persons (IDPs) to the villages of Shushakend and Khanyurdu in the Khojaly district. The relocation process included families receiving house keys as part of the government's ongoing efforts to restore and rebuild communities in liberated territories.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on December 25, convoys transporting families from various cities and districts arrived in Shushakend and Khanyurdu. This phase of relocation saw 20 families, comprising 83 individuals, resettled in Shushakend, while 12 families, totaling 50 individuals, were moved to Khanyurdu.

During the key presentation ceremony, Sabuhi Gahramanov, Deputy Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the city of Khankendi and the districts of Aghdara and Khojaly, congratulated the returning residents. He emphasized the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated areas, highlighting that both villages are now equipped with essential utilities like drinking water, electricity, and gas. Gahramanov also noted the focus on creating employment opportunities for the residents. The returning families expressed their gratitude for the newly provided conditions and shared their happiness at returning to their homeland after many years.
